1143 N Commonwealth Ave

1143 Commonwealth Avenue is a rare opportunity: a beautifully kept 1920s fourplex with four oversized one-bedroom, one-bath residences, each approaching 800 square feet and full of classic Hollywood character. Original hardwood floors, high ceilings, crown molding and in-unit laundry give every home a warm, timeless feel. Two freshly painted units are delivered vacant, ready for an owner-occupant or new tenants at market rent, while the other two are occupied by stable, long-term residents. That makes it an appealing balance for an end user or a long-term investor. The building has been thoughtfully cared for, with a freshly re-stuccoed and painted exterior, manicured landscaping, and seismic retrofit completed in 2022. A gated driveway leads to four dedicated covered parking spaces plus an open guest space, and each unit has its own storage. The location, between Silver Lake and Virgil Village, puts some of the Eastside's best dining at your door: Sunset Boulevard favorites Bacari, Marco Polo and The Black Cat, and Virgil Village standouts Sqirl and Doto. Sunset Junction, the Silver Lake Reservoir and Griffith Park are close by, as are Kaiser Permanente, the Vermont/Sunset Metro station, and the 101 and 5 freeways. With generous floor plans, original architectural character, two vacant units and a central location, 1143 Commonwealth is a compelling place to live, invest, or both.
